Book Group book reviews

Just read three more books prior to my Book Club meeting.

The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Rodriguez

Fascinating insight into daily life in Afghanistan, especially the sometimes harrowing , but always restrictive lives of women,  from someone who lived there and actually ran a coffee shop.

Blue Dress Girl by E V Thompson

An old fashioned read about the lives of a Chinese girl and an English Officer in the 1850’s set against the turbulent history of the Taiping rebellion. Lots of historical detail about the background to these events.

Fractured by Dani Atkins

Clever plot of two alternative lives lived by Rachel, one idyllic, one horrific …but which one is true?
