The fascinating results of a poll conducted in my reading group.

Everyone was asked to nominate their favourite book of each year from the books discussed over the last three years. As we’ve read some good stuff , we all found it hard to do.

As you can see there are some clear winners (The Book Thief  by Markus Zusack in 2013 ) but last year there was really a wide range of favourites. This is real proof of how diverse people’s reading tastes are, which of course we know, but it’s still worthwhile to contemplate as a writer. Someone out there will like what you write and someone won’t.
